LATE NIGHT

Wes and I went out last night with his whole family- we'll the GROWN-UPS in the family, that is. We left the cousins at grandma's house with two teenage sisters who are family friends, and wonderful to the kids. We had a great night down in Redding- a delicious dinner, watched an awesome live performance by HAPA, and even hung out at a night club til midnight. We thought WE were the party animals- but little did we know- Owen was the last kid standing, and was having a blast having two cute girls all to himself. The kid was happy as could be, not a bit sleepy- just hanging out, eating popcorn like a big boy, chatting with the girls when we arrived at 1 am! 1 AM! We all couldn't help but laugh, he was obviously smitten and sleep was not of any interest to him. We thought the 30 min drive home would knock him out- but nope, he just chatted away. Obviously, this late night had to be documented.
So, here is our little party animal- fifteen minutes before he crashed for the night.

Family

For Kylee's president's week off, I decided to take the kids on on road trip. We knew we'd miss daddy- but thought it'd be good to give him a few days to get some of his office work done in peace and quiet. On our trip, we packed our days with fun in while visiting my brother and sis in Mountain House, and then my family in Oakland. This was the first trip where I felt like my kids are all grown up. Instead of a stroller, I brought a trike and scooter. Instead of diaper changes, we stopped at rest areas for potty breaks for the whole family. The kids are movie zombies, so driving for 4-5 hours straight was a breeze- they just took turns picking movies the whole way! Even though we had some rain- Auntie had the great idea to take the kids ice skating- they've never been, and both did SUPER adapting to the ice. When the sun was out, so were we- walking and playing at playgrounds. I definitely want to take advantage of future school breaks and take more trips like this. It's great for the kids to get some city exposure, and even better for us all to get some extra quality time with the family. Love you guys, thanks for a great time!

Happy Valentine's Day

Wishing you all a day full of love! Here are some pictures from Valentines Day 2008.
Working hard on her "Bee" Valentine's.

Kylee and Owen help load the car with Valentines for the kids and roses for the teachers.

IC DAVIS!

Kid's say the darndest things...
So, I was getting the kids dressed this morning and they both put on their UC Davis socks. I was so proud of my little future Aggies- and I did the whole "Go Aggies" cheer. They were very excited, and repeated "Goooooo Aggies!" Then I said "Whoooo UC Davis!" And they changed it to "Whooooo I see Davis!" (Well, Kylee changed it, and Owen repeated after Kylee.) So cute.

Stronger

I caught the tail-end of Owen's groovin' to the live performances from the Grammy's last night. He was so inspired by Kanye West, that he got up from his chicken nugget lunch to show me his moves.

Little Mommy

My good friend, Jen, just visited for a couple of days and we had a great time hanging out and entertaining the little ones. Kylee was absolutely in her element as soon as she saw Baby Jimmy. She was determined to be the best little helper EVER- and had a blast playing mommy. She went to bed with a smile on her face the first night, and said "I just love that baby so much!" She was crushed when they drove away last night, but this picture has been helping her with her "heart that hurts so much" cause he's gone. Ahhhh, young love.

Super Snowy Weekend

The week ended with two snow days from school, our town got dumped on with snow! And we loved it... snowboarding and nighttime sledding in our backyard, our biggest snowman EVER, and we, luckily, never lost power so we could still watch the very exciting ending to the super bowl. (And we really only did watch the last quarter... we were too busy sledding in the dark while daddy cleared the driveway, so we could drive our cars this morning.)
